  • Biography

Born in 1995 in Mashiko, Tochigi Prefecture, I am a third-generation potter and the grandson of Saburo Kimura.
After graduating from university in 2020, I studied at the Kyoto Pottery Technical Center.
From 2021 to 2025, I worked as studio staff for the Mashiko Museum Residency Program at the Mashiko Museum of Ceramic Art.
I currently create work at Kimura Kiln, my family studio in Mashiko.
My focus is on preserving and continuing the traditional painting techniques of Mashiko, as exemplified by Masu Minagawa and Hiro Minagawa, along with my grandfather’s wheel-throwing methods. I explore these traditions particularly through the creation of Sansui Teapots (landscape teapots) and Sansui Train Teapots (landscape train teapots).
