Ben Owen III is a potter living in Seagrove, North Carolina. Coming from a lineage of potters dating back to the late 1700s, the Owens family learned the skills to make utilitarian pottery for the early settlers. Ben Owens III learned his craft as a young apprentice to his grandfather, master potter Ben Owen Sr., in the late 1970s. His designs are largely inspired by early American Stoneware, Asia, Europe, and Persia. Ben's work can be found in collections nationwide, including the Smithsonian Museum of Art, and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
