Biography
Kang-hyo Lee was born in 1961 and is one of Korea's foremost potters working in the Buncheong tradition. As a student at Hongik University under the guidance of world famous ceramist Shin Sang Ho he decided that ceramics was going to be his life's work. Hongik University is also where he met his wife and soul mate Hee Kyong, also a wonderful potter working in porcelain.
Later, he spent time learning the techniques of Ongii before beginning to make his own work. Kang-hyo is a quiet, spiritual, kind and modest man. His work is represented in many museums across the world including the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, The Art Institute, Chicago and The British Museum.
