My grandfather runs a Mashiko-ware shop and has been making pottery since my father's generation.
I try to express Mashiko's traditional materials and techniques in pieces that are comfortable in the hand and can be used every day.
I am trying to create something made without cutting corners, something that someone else will like and use even after I am gone. I am searching for a way of being that is universal, even in the midst of changing lifestyles and cultures, a tradition that can only be born in this day and era.
