This Refind show brings together a selection of Japanese Wares with earthy qualities: deep brown, rich reds, leafy greens. View the quiet and subtle surfaces on Bizen-ware. Feel the rocky textural qualities of Shigaraki-ware. Several of these pieces are unglazed, with their distinct surfaces coming from the naturally-occuring clay from the region it was made. Many pieces in this show come with a signed tomobako (a wooden box made specially for the piece it holds).
