Ian Symons studied ceramics at Rhode Island School of Design, Nova Scotia College of Art and Design and Alfred University, New York. A highly accomplished potter, Ian has won numerous awards for his art and has been part of over 50 art and ceramics exhibitions during his tenure. Ian has close to thirty years experience teaching ceramics including The Gardiner Museum, Sheridan College, George Brown College, Nova Scotia School of Fine Arts amongst others. Ian has also been awarded for his work from the National Biennial of Ceramics and Ontario Crafts.



Karin Pavey was born and grew up in Toronto, ON. She began her ceramic studies in Sweden and is a graduate of both Sheridan College and the Nova Scotia College of Art & Design where she received a BFA.

Karin was a ceramic instructor at the Gardiner Museum for many years. In addition, she has taught at Sheridan College, the ROM, Avenue Road School of the Arts and the Toronto District School Board. She currently works in her Toronto west end studio and teaches part time.
